Hawaiian Flower Tattoos - Hibiscuc Flower PatternsHave you even been to the Hawaii? Or have you ever dreamt of? If you admire the Hawaiian culture or are just fascinated by its exotic plants, and at the same time long for a flower tattoo, why not stop at exotic patterns this culture can offer! These are by no means predictable designs and you will undoubtedly stand out of the crowd.

Hawaiian flower tattoos may depict such flowers as the hibiscus, plumeria, pikake and lotus. They are very traditional for the natives but exceptionally unique for tat wearers from the rest of the world.
When you decide what tattoo to choose keep in mind their symbolism. As a rule they have multiple meanings so there’re no barriers for your imagination and you can add something of your own to the original pattern to ascribe a new shade of meaning to a final image.

A hibiscus flower and namely its yellow variety is, for example, a state flower of the Hawaii. It is the first flower that comes to a person’s mind when he or she thinks of getting an exotic flower tattoo. It is also one of the few flowers that are native to the Hawaii. Perhaps for this reason a lot of people wear a hibiscus tattoo in one of its many forms. About 200 of its species are known and each of them has its unique kind of flower.

At the same time a Hibiscus flower has a peculiar meaning among the Hawaiian women: when they tuck it behind their ear it means that they are in search for a marriage partner.

David Henrie TattoosAs you know, a lot of celebrities nowadays, pop-stars and actors wear tattoos of various designs and patterns, and still much more people, fans in particular, try to imitate them or at least learn something about their idols’ tattoos.

Take, for instance, David Henrie, a well-known American actor. He won the hearts of the audience after having played Larry on That’s So Raven, and Justin Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place. He comes from an Italian family and started his movie “carrier” at school age. He also has a brother who is an actor, too

As the majority of sources say, David Henrie wears three tattoos: one of them is an angel tattoo on his shoulder while the other two are quotes from Bible tattooed on his arms.

Henrie’s angel is a nice flying creature, beautifully painted with his wings spread in flight. In general, an angel is a symbol of devotion, love, spirituality, peace and faith and also is a defender of a human’s sole. Angels are God’s messengers, so lots of people are guided by their religious feelings when they decide to wear this kind of tattoo. But very often, angel tattoos serve for men as an image of their beloved. At the same time, when you meet a man with such tattoo on his shoulder, don’t be so naïve as to think that he’s an angel himself!)

Tattoos to Symbolize Mother and ChildMother is a symbol of life, holiness, eternity, warmth and all-conquering love. In many cultures of the world Mother is worshipped as she makes a family and preserves it. Mother gives birth to children so she symbolizes the act of creation.

Women are proud on becoming mothers; they say that a woman is not fulfilled until she is a mother. They want to underline their status and some of them resort to tattoo art in order to do it. Tattoos to symbolize mother and child can be as simple as a picture of mother carrying a child or women’s hands on which a child rests. But I will stop on a symbolic meaning of motherhood.

A pink flower, or a carnation, symbolizes Christian love, which includes a motherly love to a child. It blossomed out the day Jesus was born. Since remote times it has been used on wedding ceremonies as a symbol of conjugal ties. A pink also stands for Virgin Mary’s tears, that’s why it is ascribed a symbolic meaning of maternity.

Well, of course, it is not the only meaning of the flower. It also translates as struggle, revolt, fire and commemoration of the war victims.

Tattoos to Symbolize Mother and Child

As a tattoo to symbolize mother and child a lotus flower can be used. On the famous painting by N. Rerich “Mother of the World,” this flower is painted violet and is depicted as the main attribute of Mother. It is her symbol as well as symbol of birth, evolution, femininity and creation.

Also, a deep symbolism can be found in geometrical figures. For instance, in a number of Slavonic cultures the symbol of motherhood is hidden in eight-point star, which is the main element in embroidery and other fine arts.
