German Shepherd Tattoo Designs Do you like dogs and cats and other domestic pets? These funny creatures surround us, bring fun into our life, make us happy in solitude and can be real friends. And we treat them as family members and are sad when they pass away. Some people even have tattoos of their pet done to commemorate them or just to show their love for them. It is just great – to have your pet beside you and drawn on your body at the same time!

Well, animal tattoos can be of all kind and sorts and dogs are not among the least popular. Lots of people enjoy German Shepherd tattoos as these they like these dogs for they look noble, they are strong, courageous and obedient in training. They have a strong sense of duty and are devoted to their owners. They are as well known to be clever and intelligent sleuths. German Shepherds have also played main parts in a number of films, police dramas and series in particular.

But do you know that these dogs are a relatively “new” breed? It originated in Germany (as you might have already guessed) at the end of the XIX century where local communities selected dogs and bred dogs that could be helpful in a particular job. At the beginning it was intended that this would be a working dog for herding sheep, and this is reflected in its naming – a shepherd. Now they work in a number of spheres of people’s life: they track criminals, help to detect and hold suspects, detect various substances such as narcotics, explosives, mine, etc. as they have excellent sense of smell. They can also be guides for visually impaired people.
