Beautiful flowers make our life more exciting, so it’s no wonder that tattoos of flowers and other bright tropical designs are one of the most popular and ancient types of tattoos besides such designs like evil cobra tattoo. Just like real flowers attract bees and butterflies, tropical flower tattoos attract people’s attention all over the world.

It’s a common fact that people who choose a certain type of tattoo design tend to express their individuality through it. That’s why only few persons choose a tattoo design that has already become and extremely popular template. But there will be no two tropical tattoos alike, because a great variety of flower tattoos exists. Moreover, tattooists from all over the world are very careful about creating a flower tattoo design: even a simple tattoo of a rose can be found in thousands of sizes and shapes. The choice becomes even more varied if you want to add something to the flower composition – a fairy, a heart, a butterfly or something else. Whether you make a big tropical flower tattoo on your back or a small wild flower on your ankle – you can always be sure that your tattoo will be a 100 per cent unique and original.

One of the most popular tropical flower tattoos is lily. Different types of lilies have their own meaning. Water lily means a pure heart, Hemerocallis stands for coquetry, and a Tiger lily says “Dare to fall in love with me”.

Another quite popular tropical flower tattoo is a Hibiscus. It’s a state flower of Hawaii and it symbolizes delicate beauty and sophistication.

And rose, of course, is an indispensable tattoo design. Every person has his or her own opinion about the meaning of this flower, though it has some standard and traditional ones. Red roses stand for love and union, pink roses mean “Let’s guard the secret of our love”, and white roses tell us that this person is worthy of our love. But these meanings are not obligatory.

One of the merits of tropical tattoos is that they suit both women and man. Of course, women are more free to choose, but men can always make a flower tattoo look masculine adding strict geometrical or Celtic ornament.
