Small, unpretentious, quick on its toes, this dog feels good about living in a flat as well as about a long stroll through a park and being carried to another corner of the town. Senior residents and family couples like the dog for its obedient behavior. Guessed who is it? It is a Boston terrier dog, the favorite pet and the best friend of lots of families.
Not long ago we spoke about German Shepherd tattoos and I must admit that having a pet’s tattoo done is in fashion now. Dogs are noble and such tats really stand out of the crowd of animal tattoos as they can tell something about its wearer, the same way dogs often tell us about their masters.
Boston terrier is one of the few breeds which were literally “made in USA.” It originated in the 70-s of the 19th century when Bull and Terriers were crossed into terriers created In Boston some time earlier. Unlike Bull and Terriers, Boston terriers are almost devoid of the ruthless desire for mayhem the former are known for, but instead they are companion-dogs and enjoy being with people, and, if given proper training, get along well with children, the elderly, and other pets.
By the year 1920 the breed has become very popular. Its lively and friendly mood appealed to big city dwellers as they are gentle and well-mannered. It is modest in food and doesn’t need serious treatment. It is a real “American gentleman among dogs.”

There are various designs of Boston terrier tattoos. They may depict two or three puppies playing together as well as a dog’s muzzle with a hint of smile or with the tongue out so that is makes you smile. And it is its color that is “Boston” breed’s distinctive feature. So the dog on your tattoo should be painted black with white shirtfront and toes. At the same time the white color areas should be symmetrically placed on a dog’s body. In real life “asymmetrical” dogs are not allowed to take part in exhibitions. So make sure your tattoo is perfect in these terms and perhaps one day the Boston terrier tattoo on your leg or arm will be allowed to an exhibition.)
